Phil Zwierzchowski, general manager of Troy Country Club, said Wednesday that he had worked with Mr. Malicote at Carillon Park and at Moraine Country Club, and recruited the chef after he took became the GM at Troy Country Club about two years ago.
“He was very humble, willing to listen, and willing to accommodate people,” Zwierzchowski said. “He was a bit of a chameleon in the kitchen. He could do home-style all the way up to high-end dining. He could adapt.”
Mr. Malicote is survived by his wife, Lois Malicote; daughter, Kayse Malicote; and her two children, Alexis and Landen Pennington, as well as six stepchildren and many step-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Windamere, 2 South Main St. Middletown. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Bob's name. Glickler Funeral Home handling arrangements.
