An annual competition that involves ‘shooting’ for turkeys returns today

The Vandalia Recreation Center will host its 34th Annual Turkey Shoot this Saturday in the gymnasium.

This is a foul shot basketball competition. The more points you make, the better chance at getting a gift certificate to go toward your Thanksgiving feast.

There will be two-member teams with one adult and one child from the same family. Those children that are eight years and younger will shoot at a lower basket.

The competition is Saturday at 10 a.m. and will continue until it is over. The Rec Center is located at Stonequarry Road.
