Arrest warrant issued for Dayton man charged in deadly shooting

A man previously identified by police as a person they wanted to question has been indicted on murder and other charges connected to the shooting of Chendo “BJ” Buford Jr., according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

Karton Stephone Jones, 24, of Dayton was indicted by a Montgomery County Grand Jury Friday on two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault, prosecutors said in a media release.

Jones is accused of shooting Buford on Northcrest Drive in Dayton March 2. Prosecutors said multiple eyewitnesses identified Jones as the shooter.

Jones remains on the run and an arrest warrant has been issued, prosecutors said.
