Battalion Chief David Young retires after 37 years of service to the Beavercreek Twp. Fire Department.

Young started as a volunteer in 1983, and said it has been an honor serving his community.

“It’s the best job in the world you’re able to help people in situations you just can’t imagine and the rewards of that are just great," Young said.

During the 9/11 attacks in New York, Young was deployed with Ohio Task Force One urban rescue group.

The Beavercreek Twp. Fire Department celebrated Young’s service with the community Friday afternoon.
