Students most recently were charged with designing and building a boat that would float for 10 seconds when weighted down by 25 pennies, using the materials of drinking straws, plastic wrap, small drinking cups and duct tape.
“Our students talk about these lessons for weeks because they are exciting and practical,” said Principal Amy Dobson.
“Our teachers love them because there are so many math and science concepts presented in each scenario. Authentic, problem-based learning is so successful. This is just a wonderful program.”
