Boy on a bike darts into traffic, is hit by a car, Dayton police say

UPDATE @ 7:04 p.m.:  An 11-year-old boy suffered non-life threatening injuries when a darted into traffic on his bicycle and was hit by a car, Dayton police said. 

The boy was taken to Dayton Children's Hospital.


A medic unit and police are on a report of a child struck by a vehicle in the area of Salem and West Grand avenues in Dayton. 

The incident was reported about 5:15 p.m.
