Police raising funds for Michael’s House

Help support the Xenia Police Department as they join Just Ink Tees to support Michael’s House, a place that helps children suffering from all forms of abuse. It’s a national model for child advocacy designed to promote healing.

Hometown Christmas Parade Nov. 25

On Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. the city of Xenia will kick off its Hometown Christmas Parade at Xenia Station, Miami Ave. The parade route will proceed down Detroit Street and end at Shawnee Park.

BELLBROOK

Christmas in the Park Dec. 9

On Dec. 9 from 5-7 p.m. the city of Bellbrook will kick off the holiday season in Bellbrock Park, 57 N. Main St. with its annual Christmas in the Park festival. The festival will begin with a park lighting ceremony to welcome Santa to the park. Local music groups will fill the park with seasonal carols while Santa meets with his clients. Free activities for kids and families will include: crafts, gingerbread contest tent, and hot chocolate.

Donations of winter clothing items will be accepted on behalf of the Bellbrook Family Resource Center benefiting local families in need this winter. There will also be a bake sale to benefit the Bellbrook High School service group Partnerships for Success. Partnerships for Success students work with the park district to help organize the festival.

Gingerbread House Contest Dec. 9

The 9th annual Gingerbread House Contest will be featured during Bellbrook’s Christmas in the Park Festival Dec. 9. Entries need to be dropped off at Bellbrock Park, 57 N. Main St. from 4-5 p.m. Judging will take place afterwards. All entries may not exceed a 2-by-3-foot base and must be made from 75 percent food products. The winners will be announced during the festival.

Gingerbread House Contest Categories include: Child 7 and under, Child 8-13, 14 and up, Family/All ages group entry and Community/Business group entry.

FAIRBORN

Hometown Holiday Parade Dec. 1

Join the city of Fairborn in celebrating the holiday season by participating in the Fairborn Hometown Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting on Dec. 1. The parade will begin at Second St. and Main St. and will travel east on Main St. through downtown Fairborn.
