The first of two Jefferson Township candidate forums hosted by the Land Lovers Against Neighborhood Dumps is scheduled to be Oct. 14.
The forums are co-hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area and are designed to give candidates an opportunity to address issues vital to the township, according to Laura Rench, event coordinator.
The first forum will be held 6:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Jefferson Township Administration Building at the corner of U.S. 35 and West Third Street. The second forum will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Community Wellness Center, formerly the YMCA, 4415 Dayton Liberty Road.
All five township trustee candidates and two fiscal officer candidates have been invited to the forums. Trustee candidates Willa Bronston, Mary Johnson, and Roy Mann had confirmed their attendance as of Oct. 8, according to Rench.
