Centerville extends brush drop-off hours, schedules storm debris pick-up

The City of Centerville is providing residents with debris pick-up from the Nov. 15 ice storm along with extended brush drop-off hours.

Beginning the week of Nov. 26, Public Works crews will go through the city to collect storm-related brush that residents are unable to take to the Public Work center.

Brush drop-off is at the Public Works Center, 7970 S. Suburban Road, with the following extended hours:

  • Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 7
  • Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 15
  • Closed Nov. 22 and 23
  • Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting Dec. 10

Brush pick-up:

  • Branches must be trimmed to less than eight feet in length and less than 10 inches in diameter
  • Mulch, rocks, root balls, stumps, grasses and loose leaves are not accepted
  • Place all brush, storm debris, and leaf piles at edge of yard near the curb, not in the street
  • Don't place brush in leaf piles
  • Leaf trucks can't collect leaves if brush is in them and will be left behind for resident to dispose
