The woman who died in the Coachman Drive house fire Tuesday morning has been identified as 68-year-old Mary Atkinson, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

A woman died in a house fire after she and her husband searched for the source of smoke in their home.
According to Washington Twp. Fire Chief William Gaul III, a husband and wife awoke to the smell of smoke and searched the house for the smell.
“It became too intense,” he said.
The husband went outside believing his wife was outside, and when he realized she wasn’t, he tried to go back inside.
“The flames and the smoke were too intense at that time,” Gaul said.
The woman’s body was found deceased in the back of the house. Her identity has not been released at this time.
The fire was reported at 3:55 a.m. by a neighbor, and crews arrived on scene just after 4 a.m.

A male was taken away in an ambulance after a house fire in Centerville
The coroner’s office has also been requested.
An investigator is on scene.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has been asked to respond to a house fire in Centerville.
Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire on Coachman Drive in Centerville Tuesday morning.
Crews were dispatched to the first block of Coachman Drive around 3:55 a.m. and have reported heavy smoke and flames from the structure.
Initial reports indicate one person was able to evacuate the structure, but another person might still be unaccounted for.
