Clayton needs people to serve community. Here’s how to get involved.

The city of Clayton is seeking any resident who is interested to serve on the Clayton Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). This position is voluntary.

Members of this board are appointed to five-year staggered terms by the city council, according to the website.

BZA is a group of citizens that volunteer to make decisions for variances from standards in the Clayton Zoning Ordinance, body for conditional use requests as specified in the Clayton Ordinance and a quasi-judicial appeals body for decisions of the City of Clayton Planning and Zoning Department staff.

The main qualification is you must be a Clayton resident.

If you are interested in a position on this board, submit a Citizen Committee application to the board secretary Jennifer Barclay by Oct. 5 via email.
