In addition to county offices continuing to work despite the offices being closed to the public, Montgomery County continues to operate services required for benefits and assistance.

Anyone who has lost work due to the outbreak is urged to apply for unemployment benefits through the state. Applications can be reached at unemployment.ohio.gov, county Director of Workforce Marvene Mitchell-Cook said.

The Montgomery County Job Center remains open but is only accepting meetings by appointment only and no walk-ins will be accepted, Mitchell-Cook said. To reach the Job Center, you are asked to call 937-225-5627.
The lobby at the job center will also be limited to those with appointments only. Computer use at the job center has been discontinued, however Goodwill-Easter Seals will open doors to a computer room March 23.

Those who are seeking to apply or check eligibility for services like Medicaid, child care, cash, or food assistance are urged to use the website ssp.benefits.ohio.gov.
Other county services, like trash removal, sewer, and water services will continue regardless of the COVID-19 outbreak, county officials said.
County workers have been granted an additional 80 hours of leave if workers need to be home with family or quarantined due to the outbreak.
