Montgomery County officials said they have received five pallets of medical supplies shipped from Columbus. The supplies are distributed based on a formula broken down by hospitals, EMS and law enforcement personnel, hospice and long-term care facilities.

Public Health of Dayton and Montgomery County is working closely with the Emergency Management Agency to coordinate what’s needed.

“The need is going to be there as the cases increase,” Dan Suffoletto, public information supervisor for Public Health.

Suffoletto said that the a volunteer program is under way for those who are interesting in assisting their community, but he emphasized the importance of minimizing spread.

“You shouldn’t be going anywhere or seeing anybody unless you absolutely have to,” he said.

Commissioners Judge Dodge and Debbie Lieberman will share information on the county’s emergency operations, resource support and mission critical services.

Officials stated that Montgomery County would see a drop in the economy, especially through sales tax and gasoline tax. Unnecessary expenses and projects would likely be pushed back, although necessary repairs to roads would still take place.

As of Monday there are 12 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Montgomery County, according to county health officials.
