Furnace malfunction causes structure fire in Miami Twp.

UPDATE @ 4:40 p.m.:

No one was injured in the condominium fire that was reported around 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the 5400 block of Lamme Road, according to Battalion Chief Steve Meadows.

The fire was caused by a malfunction of the furnace, which will need replaced.

The damage estimate is about $2,000, said Meadows.

FIRST REPORT:

Emergency crews responded to a reported condominium fire in the 5400 block of Lamme Road in Miami Twp Sunday around 1:40 p.m.

Initial reports from firefighters on scene indicated fire inside the walls of the structure.

There was a haze coming from the upstairs of the building and smoke coming out of a wall, according to dispatch logs.

The Miami Valley Fire Department responded.

The cause of the reported fire is unknown.

It’s not known if anyone was injured.
