Two of the Dayton area’s newest, locally owned Italian restaurants are offering free pizzas to the region’s first responders and health-care workers on back-to-back days this Sunday and Monday, April 12-13.

Roma's Pizza & Pasta at 282 W. Central Ave. in Springboro plans to give away 100 pepperoni pizzas from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, according to founder and owner Labinot Troni.

The new Italian restaurant opened two weeks ago in a storefront that formerly housed Pizza-N-Motion, which shut down in January. Troni has worked at several other Italian restaurants in the region, including most recently Troni’s Italian Restaurant in Kettering, which is operated by his brother Nick.

On Monday, April 13, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuscany's Grill & Market at 881 E. Franklin St. in Centerville will donate 100 large pizzas to first responders and health-care workers. "Owner Mefail Demnika believes in supporting the community during this tough time," the restaurant said on its Facebook page.

Demnika is the founder of the former Kettering restaurants La Pergola, Toscani’s (later Arthur’s), and  Palermo’s Restaurant.

Tuscany’s is located in the former Cork-N-Bottle Minit Market, just east of Centerville High School. The carryout restaurant added a pizza oven and pasta dishes to its menu earlier this month.
