Dayton Dynamo soccer back in business

The Dayton Dynamo have returned.

The latest rendition of the professional soccer team that last played here in 1995 was announced Thursday evening in the media center at Chaminade Julienne High School by team president David Satterwhite.

“When we came up here and talked to people, everyone mentioned the Dynamo,” said Satterwhite. “I am a big fan of tradition and we want to build on that tradition even though the team hasn’t played in 20 years.”

Satterwhite’s team, which had been playing in Cincinnati as the Cincinnati Saints, will play at Welcome Stadium in 2016 before moving to Roger Glass Field at CJ in 2017.

The move gives Dayton two professional teams. The Dayton Dutch Lions are preparing to begin their sixth season at West Carrollton High School’s DoC Stadium in 2016.
