Witnesses told police there were two physical altercations nearby on West Third Street shortly before Harbison was found dead on North Hatfield Street, Sgt. Mike Godsey said in an emailed statement Tuesday.

“At this time, it is unclear if these altercations are connected to the (shooting death) or if Mr. Harbison was an intended target or innocent bystander,” Godsey said.

The coroner’s office has not made an official ruling on Harbison’s death, according to a spokesperson.

Police did not indicate whether they have any suspects or made any arrests.
