A Dayton man was indicted on several charges including murder for the shooting death of another man during a robbery on Woodman Drive in Dayton earlier this month.

Jeremiah Keith, 31, was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on four counts of murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, and other charges, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

Keith is accused of killing Toby Thomas, 44, during an attempted robbery Aug. 20 in the 1600 block of Woodman Drive.

Prosecutors allege Keith and another unknown person robbed Thomas and a woman with him at gunpoint. Despite Thomas complying with the robbers, Keith shot Thomas multiple times, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Thomas was transported to an area hospital but later died from his injuries. The woman with him was able to escape.
The grand jury indicted Keith on the following charges:
- Four counts of murder
- Two counts of aggravated robbery
- Three counts of felonious assault
- Two counts of having weapons under disability
Keith remains booked in the Montgomery County Jail. He will be arraigned on the charges Sept. 12.
