Dayton police responded to the hospital after a security officer reported the woman was leaving with her child.
Montgomery County Children Services is working with the family and has a safety plan in place, police said.
Once the police investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office for review and consideration of charges, police said.
FIRST REPORT
Dayton police were called to Dayton Children’s Hospital Tuesday afternoon after receiving a report of possible child abuse, according to a Dayton police report.
Officers responded to the hospital around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a call from a security officer, who told dispatchers a woman was trying to leave the hospital.
“We have someone leaving...possibly life threatening,” the security officer said. “One of her three children. I don’t know which child it is.”
It’s unclear what police uncovered when they arrived to the hospital, however the report lists the possible crime committed as endangering children.
Dayton police have not responded to a request made Tuesday for comment on the investigation.
The incident report does not list any arrests.
