The Dayton Police Department is asking for your help to identify a man suspected of stealing a package from one address and several items from another address this week.
He had the nerve to return to one of the homes and asked if the homeowners needed him to shovel their snow for pay.
A man dressed in a tan hooded three-quarter length winter coat, dark pants and white tennis shoes has been identified by witnesses as the suspect involved in three incidents, according to police:
- On Jan. 14, he stole a package off the porch of a residence in the 2100 block of East Fifth Street. He stuffed it in his coat and headed off carrying a shovel.
- On Jan. 15, the same suspect appears to break into Twin Towers Place, on Allen Street, and take several items. He is recorded by surveillance camera in the lobby, carrying a bag.
- Also on Jan. 15, he returns to the East Fifth Street address and asks residents if they need their snow removed.
Thursday, the police department released surveillance video of the suspect in the hope someone would be able to identify him.
If you recognize the suspect or know anything about either crime, you are asked to call 937-333-COPS or Miami Valley Crime Stoppers, 937-222-STOP.
