The Trotwood Police Department were in the area of Salem Avenue near Wolf Road responding to another call when they heard gunshots south of Wolf Road around 1:15 a.m.
Officers investigated the source of the gunshots and found a vehicle crashed into a billboard support pole between two buildings, according to a report from the Trotwood Police Department.
Records initially said that police took someone into custody, but officials clarified that nobody had been arrested, but that two people were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
One person in the vehicle suffered a single gunshot wound but the injury was not life-threatening. The car involved in the crash had eight to nine bullet holes in it, according to the News Center 7 crew on the scene of the accident.
Then around 3:40 a.m. police responded to a building in the 3900 block of West Third Street that was being used as an after-hours, unlicensed bar, according to Dayton Police Sgt. Doug George.
The 911 caller reported that she saw a man on the ground in front of her who was shot and that he was not breathing. Police are searching for three armed suspects that fled the area, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim on West Third Street has not yet been identified.
Saturday night, law enforcement and medic units responded to a shooting on Catalpa Drive in Harrison Twp. around 10:09 p.m. Deonte Ballinger, 25, of Dayton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, two people had reportedly been shot and one person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
