2 detained after attempting to flee from Jefferson Twp. crash

UPDATE @ 2:55 p.m.:

Two people were detained after they attempted to flee from the scene of a Jefferson Twp. crash, Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer said.

The crash was reported at the intersection of Infirmary and Derby roads in Jefferson Twp. around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A Ford sedan ran a stop sign at the intersection and crashed into a Chevrolet sedan, Plummer said.

The driver of the Chevrolet suffered some broken bones in the crash, but their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The occupants of the Ford, who were not identified, fled from the scene of the crash but were later captured and detained by deputies. It was not immediately clear if the two will be arrested or charged in connected to the incident.

Deputies also found a smell of marijuana inside the Ford, Plummer said. It was also not clear if any drugs were found in the car.
