Driver OK after car crashes into Springfield pond

UPDATE @ 8:30 a.m.

The driver of a vehicle that traveled into a pond this morning on Snyder Park Road climbed out of the window of the submerged vehicle and was not hurt.

The driver reported he had stopped but the vehicle traveled into the water when his foot became entangled in the acceleration and brake pedals.

EARLIER

Crews are responding to Springfield after a car crashed into a pond.

Initial reports indicate at least one person is out of the car and is swimming. It’s unknown if anyone else was in the car.

The accident happened in the 1500 block of Snyder Park Road.
