A driver was rescued and taken to an area hospital after a two-vehicle crash that resulted with a car on its side west of Brookville Tuesday morning.
The crash was reported around 8 a.m. on Westbrook Road near Preble County Line Road in Perry Twp.
Police investigating the crash said the driver of Chevrolet Impala didn’t see a stop sign at the intersection due to the sun. The car went into the intersection and crashed into the side of a Toyota Prius, causing the Prius to overturn.
The driver of the Prius, only identified as a woman, was trapped in the car after the crash. Rescue crews pulled her from the car and transported her to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Impala was not injured in the crash. He will be cited with failure to yield, according to police.
