Driver seriously injured in Darke Co. crash

The driver injured Saturday night in a Darke County crash, Karen Reier, remained listed in serious condition Sunday night at Miami Valley Hospital.

UPDATE @ 6:20 a.m. 1/25:

The driver seriously injured in a Saturday night crash in Darke County has been identified.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says Karen Reier of Ansonia went off the left side of Ohio 47 in a pickup truck before coming to rest in a ditch, according to a release.

Reier’s condition is not known at this time, but Miami Valley Hospital representatives say she suffered potential life-threatening injuries, but is currently stable.


CareFlight was called to a serious crash tonight in Darke County.

A pickup truck went off the roadway on Ohio 47 in the area of Beam Road around 11:15 p.m. The vehicle went down an embankment and into a creek, seriously injuring its driver, according to initial reports.

A medical helicopter landed at the justice center in Greenville, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. The patient was brought front the scene to be flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

No further information was immediately available.
