Dog rescued from burning Clay Twp. home

Firefighters rescued a dog after a fire broke out in a Clay Twp. home Wednesday afternoon.

Crews responded to the 8000 block of Brookville-Phillipsburg Road around 2:15 p.m. and reported heavy smoke and fire from the structure.

No residents were home when the fire broke out, but a dog was rescued and taken to a nearby animal hospital for treatment, according to investigators. 

The fire is believed to have started in a back room of the home but the cause remains under investigation, firefighters said. 

Additional details were not available. 


A fire has been reported on Brookville-Phillipsburg Road this afternoon.

The fire was reported at a house in the 8000 block of Brookville-Phillipsburg.
