Fire at Kettering laundromat contained to dryer

UPDATE @ 2:15 p.m.: 

A Kettering laundromat is expected to stay open after firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out in a dryer at the business.

Investigators said the blaze was contained to one dryer after a blanket inside the unit caught fire.

No injuries were reported.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters have responded to reports of a fire at a laundromat on East Whipp Road in Kettering Friday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to the business at 2016 East Whipp Road around 1:30 p.m. and reported smoke coming from the front of the structure.

Initial reports indicate the fire was contained to a dryer in the business.

No injuries have been initially reported.
