Former Wright-Patterson Air Force Base commander retired Col. Cassie B. Barlow will become executive director of the Wright State University Aerospace Professional Development Center, university officials announced this morning.
Barlow, 47, retired as the commander of the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson last month after completing a two-year tour of duty. She oversaw troubled times at the base as it was roiled by sharp defense budget cuts, a partial federal government shutdown and the furloughs of thousands of civil service employees.
The Buffalo, N.Y., native served in the Air Force for 26 years.
Col. John M. Devillier became 88th Air Base Wing commander in July.
