Fourth annual Purple Heart Recognition Ceremony held in Springboro

Warren and Butler County Veterans Services hosted the fourth annual Purple Heart Recognition Ceremony Sunday.

“This event publicly recognizes our Veterans who have shed their blood in defense of our nation and its citizens,” according to a press release.

The ceremony took place at Springboro Cemetery located at 2348 West Lower Springboro Rd. at 11 a.m.

Along with the celebration, there was a dedication of the new Springboro Veterans Memorial Monument.

The Springboro High School band performed at the event.

The Warren County Veterans Outreach Coach was available to issue state of Ohio veterans ID cards and dog tags to replace those that have been lost, according to the release.

County Veterans Services officers were made available to advise veterans about their local, state and federal veterans benefits.
