Get your Cinco de Mayo on at Austin Landing this Friday

What's better than a Cinco de Mayo party? A Cinco de Mayo party that happens on a Friday! Head out to the Park at Austin Landing (10400 Innovation Drive) on Friday, May 5, for the biggest fiesta of the year, starting at 4 p.m. under the big tent. Rain or shine – this party will happen!

Chuy's will be your host for a fun evening featuring their famous margaritas, Mexican beer, and endless chips and queso. It's going to be an epic night full of good food, cold drinks, and the best entertainment -- all to support the Fisher House at the Dayton VA. While you're there, be sure to enter raffles for a big screen television and for one year of free food from Chuy's.

Known for his quick cuts, smooth blends and artistic style of mixing, DJ Rob Sample will get things rolling by spinning tunes in the big party tent. Cincinnati-based cover band The Menus takes the stage at 7 p.m. to kick the celebration up a notch, with their “weirdness that works” style.

Tickets are just $10 when purchased online in advance and $15 at the door. Price of entry includes those fabulous Chuy's chips and queso. A VIP option also is available – in addition to the chips and queso (did we mention they're endless?), VIPs receive a signature light-up margarita glass, adult beverages, a private party tent, and a special dinner provided by Another Broken Egg. VIP tickets are limited, so be sure to purchase them now! Click here to buy tickets online.

All proceeds from the Cinco de Mayo party ticket and beer sales will go to support the Fisher House at the Dayton VA. Since 1990, the Fisher House Foundation has been providing housing options for active duty and retired military and veterans who are undergoing treatment or recovery. Patients and their families are welcome to stay at the Fisher House at no cost, while engaging in a sense of community with other families in close proximity to hospitals and VA medical centers.

Friday's fiesta will happen, regardless of weather, so be sure to dress appropriately. The good thing is the party tent should keep everyone dry, even if it rains! A large crowd is expected, so please don't bring chairs, coolers or backpacks. Recommended parking is in the garage adjacent to the Austin Landing event area. You can view more party details here.

The Cinco de Mayo party marks the official start to Austin Landing's summer event season. Click here to see the full schedule for all the fun.
