Greenville police track down suspect in hit/skip bicyclist crash

UPDATE @ 2:55 p.m.

Police in Greenville have tracked down a male suspected of driving a pickup truck off Washington Avenue this morning, striking a bicyclist then leaving the scene of the crash.

The bicyclist was not seriously injured, but the driver, 24-year-old Ethan Louk, is facing multiple charges in the hit/skip incident, including felonious assault.

Our crew was there when Louk was taken into custody on North Broadway Street.

Greenville officer Darrin Fox said it appears the suspect targeted the victim and attempted to harm him intentionally.

Police said the suspect has threatened the victim before over some sort of property disagreement.

The 500 block of Washington Avenue is closed as Greenville police investigate an incident in which a truck traveled off the street and hit a bicyclist on the sidewalk.

The road was expected to reopen by early afternoon.

We’re working to gather more details.
