DETAILED FORECAST

OVERNIGHT: Mainly clear, mild and muggy through the night with lows around 70 degrees.

>> 4th heat wave of 2018 possible

WEDNESDAY:  Another hot and muggy day with a little bit of a better chance for isolated showers and storms to fire off during the peak heating of the day. Temperatures will rise to near 90 degrees with the heat index in the upper 90s. If Dayton reaches the 90s, it would be the 21st day this summer we have experienced temperatures that high. Storms will end after sunset with clouds lingering into the night. Lows fall off, close to 70 degrees.

THURSDAY:  A cold front from the northwest will bring some scattered showers and storms to the area. No significant threat for severe weather, but heavy downpour and gusty winds possible. Temperatures will reach the low to mid-80s and it will still be pretty muggy. Showers and storms will increase in coverage into the late afternoon and evening hours.

FRIDAY: A bit of cooling as the front remains to our south. Some showers and perhaps a few storms develop again in the afternoon, especially south of I-70. Highs around 80 and not as muggy.

SATURDAY: Cooler for the weekend with highs in the upper 70s. Some dry time to start with increasing clouds. Some energy from what’s left of Gordon gets pulled north and the chance for showers will return mainly late. There is some difference on timing now, so Saturday will likely end up the drier day of the two.

SUNDAY: Cloudy with steady rain, heavy at times. A few embedded storms possible as an area of low pressure passes through. Highs will be slightly below normal, in the upper 70s.
