Honda’s first Acura NSX supercar will be unveiled today at its Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville.

The first NSX was sold at auction in January before it was produced for $1.2 million. Honda donated the proceeds to charity.

The vehicle’s buyer, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and founder of Hendrick Automotive Group, will take delivery of the custom-ordered NSX this morning at the plant.

Honda is building the only supercar currently manufactured in the United States at its Ohio plant, a move that has led to more jobs and experts said shows the state's importance to the automaker.

The automaker is a major employer in the state. It employs 13,000 workers in Ohio, including about 1,400 who live in Champaign and Clark counties.

The NSX supercar is on par with high-end vehicles such as Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
