Huber Heights City Council will formally vote tonight on a motion to appoint a new Ward 2 council member after former Councilwoman Janell Smith was recalled.
Council will vote on Don Webb’s application to fill the vacant Ward 2 seat.
Two men — Webb and Albert Griggs Jr. — applied for the position. Council held interviews and voted 7-0 last week seeking to put Webb on council.

Webb, of the 8800 block of Classic Court, said he has lived in Ward 2 for more than 20 years and is a 44-year resident of Huber Heights.
Webb was twice appointed to the Huber Heights planning commission. He is a Delphi retiree and formerly managed a Harley-Davidson dealership.
Council will vote on whether to appoint Webb to the vacant seat at the 7 p.m. meeting at city hall.
If appointed, Webb replaces Smith, who voters recalled in November. Smith is ineligible to hold any city office for the remainder of the term, which expires Dec. 31, 2019.
