1 injured after head-on crash involving Springfield bus

The driver of a pickup truck was injured after crashing head-on into a Springfield City Area Transit bus Tuesday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Jefferson Street and South Western Avenue.

No one on the bus was injured, according to police.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to an area hospital with a head injury. Her condition wasn’t immediately known, but she was alert and talking, according to our crew on the scene. 

Police have blocked the intersection and it is unknown when it might reopen.
