Driver who hit Xenia police cruiser on radar patrol was intoxicated, police say

UPDATED @ 8:20 p.m.: The driver of a car that rear-ended a Xenia police cruiser on radar patrol has been cited for OVI, open container and several other traffic charges, Xenia police said Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Ellyn Board was evaluated at Greene Memorial Hospital and released.

Nicholas Bosier, who was driving the car that hit the cruiser, was treated for several injuries and released from the same hospital.

Bosier was cited on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, having an open container and other traffic-related charges following an investigation by the Xenia Police Division Crash Response Team.

A Xenia police officer on radar patrol was injured when her cruiser was struck by a passing vehicle Tuesday morning.

Both the female officer and the man who hit her were taken to Greene Memorial Hospital.

The officer reported the crash near the intersection of Wilson Drive and North Monroe Drive around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said the other vehicle crashed into the back of the police cruiser, but potential factors in the crash were unknown.

Both the officer and other driver went to Greene Memorial Hospital for observational purposes.
