She was a 2018 graduate of Butler High School in Vandalia and a nursing student at Wright State University, according to the university’s website.
Vanfossen suffered life-threatening injuries when the car she was driving was hit by a Jeep that ran a red light around 11:30 a.m., according to state troopers.
The crash also collected a third car after the initial contact.

Vanfossen was taken to an area hospital in critical condition before her passing.
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries and no injuries were reported in the third vehicle.
Family members said a medical condition suffered by the driver of the Jeep might have been the cause of the crash, however that was still under investigation by state troopers.
