“We have an extensive Foster Program designed to help underage kittens thrive until they are old enough and healthy enough to enter our Adoption Program,” said Brian Weltge, President and CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. “The wonderful thing about our Foster Program is that families all over our community open their homes on a short-term basis to help these animals. Because of their generosity, these cats and kittens are not taking up space within our shelter, which means we can use that space to help more animals in need.”
Supplies needed for the Kitten Shower include Kitten Meal Replacer (KMR) powder and liquid formula, blankets and cat beds, food and water dishes, and more. For a full list, visit www.hsdayton.org/kittenshower.

“These kittens are the babies we prepare for. Just like a person has a baby shower, we hope our supporters come together to shower the new kittens with love and donations so that we are setting each of them up for success,” said Weltge. “By giving these supplies, you are impacting the animals in our care and are helping them thrive and grow so they can get the second chance they deserve.”
