The event runs from 12:15 to 5:30 p.m. The afternoon’s program will include two intermissions with snacks and beverages.
Tickets cost $50 per person and can be obtained at TEDxDayton.com.
With more than half the tickets already sold, the TEDxDayton team encourages attendees not to wait until the last minute.
“Our Signature Event has sold out each of the last six years, and we know there are a lot of fans who have been with us year after year. Folks look forward to this,” said Ron Rollins, one of the co-chairs for the event.
The concept of ideas worth sharing is more important that ever for Dayton
“Nobody comes together like Dayton. This year, our city has shown the nation — and ourselves — what we are made of. We are people who connect with each other. We share ideas and passion, tragedy and joy. We are resilient, thoughtful, and creative. When we chose this year’s TEDxDayton theme, ‘CONNECT,’ we did not know what the year would have in store for Dayton. I think I speak for all TEDxDayton organizers when I say we hope you come out to connect with us in October. Celebrate, dance, learn a few things, and talk about new ideas. Connect with your neighbors. We all have something to share and so much to learn,” said Bridget Hutt, event co-chair and 2017 speaker.

Tickets just went on sale for one of the most inspiring and anticipated annual Gem City events.
As in past years, TedXDayton 2019 will feature a full slate of locally connected speakers who will share their "ideas worth spreading" on topics ranging from science, education, design, technology, art, history, culture and more. The day will also include performances by artists, dancers and musicians from the Dayton area, according to a TEDxDayton press release.
Tickets for the seventh-annual event can be purchased for $50 per person at www.ticketcenterstage.com/TEDxDayton. Student tickets are also available for $20. Tickets typically sell out in advance, so organizers recommend not to wait.
TEDxDayton 2019 is set to take place on Friday, Oct. 11 from 12:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Victoria Theatre in downtown Dayton. There will be two intermissions during the event for guests to refresh with complimentary snacks and beverages.
The list and schedule of speakers will be announced at a later time.

"Our differences can divide us if we let them, but our connections unite us, whether we like it or not. Strike up a conversation with any person on the street, and guaranteed you'll be able to find things you have in common," Hutt said. "This year's TEDxDayton lineup is jam-packed with speakers from diverse backgrounds, perspectives and professions. What they have in common is passion and a desire to connect with you and with all our Dayton neighbors, to share ideas worth spreading."
Since the very first licensed TED talk in 1984, TED talks have been a platform for short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances that foster learning on a global scale, as well as in local communities. This is the sixth year for TEDxDayton talks.
“We hope people will get their tickets early,” said Ron Rollins, who is co-chairing the event with John Owen and Bridget Hutt. “Our Signature Event at the gorgeous Vic has sold out each of the last six years, and we know there are a lot of fans who have been with us year after year. Folks look forward to this.”
