Black Rock Bar and Grill officially a go for Mall at Fairfield Commons

There have been whispers of what restaurant is to replace the former Don Pablo’s restaurant at the Mall at Fairfield Commons and finally, those rumors have been confirmed.

The Mall at Fairfield Commons announced in a press release that Black Rock Bar and Grill will be joining the already diverse mix of restaurants on the mall's property later this fall.

“The Mall at Fairfield Commons is excited to welcome Black Rock Bar and Grill with their extensive menu and unique dining experience.” said Dawn Mader, Director of Marketing at The Mall at Fairfield Commons. “This is the perfect complement to the types of dining options that we are able to showcase to our visitors.”

The space has been vacant for 18 months, since Don Pablo’s shut its doors for good in September 2016.

Black Rock Restaurants, which operates 11 “Black Rock Bar & Grill” locations, mostly in Michigan and Florida. The restaurants serve their steaks sizzling on a 755-degree volcanic rock, Black Rock’s web site says.

The new Black Rock location in Beavercreek will continue a tradition started in 2010 by the Morganroth family when they decided to “combine family recipes, a 755-degree volcanic stone used for cooking and a love for food,” according to a press release.

After winning first place in a nationwide competition to be named “America’s Next Top Restaurant Franchise” in 2013, the brand has expanded to 11 restaurants across the country, with four additional restaurants opening in the near future. Black Rock has since been voted the number one steakhouse in Michigan for the past five consecutive years.

“Their hot volcanic stone cooking is the focal point of their menu with a selection of steaks and seafood options that are sure to satisfy anyone’s palate,” according to a press release.
