Here is the notice that Reichley's Hallmark posted on its Facebook page Monday about the upcoming shutdown of its Dayton Mall location — all other locations will remain open and operating:
“Due to our lease ending, we're sad to announce the closing of our Dayton Mall location. The Dayton Mall Closing Sale begins today with 50% off all gifts and some select cards, and 75% off Keepsake ornaments — all sales final.”

“Fixtures and other items will also be priced to move. Dayton Mall only — all of our other locations are not affected. Stop in for some great deals!”
An employee of the store confirmed the plans to close Monday night, and said the precise closing date has not yet been determined. The store’s lease expires in mid-March.
Employees will be offered positions at other Reichley’s Hallmark stores.
“All our Dayton Mall associates have the opportunity to transfer to any of our other locations and keep their jobs with us,” the Reichleys told this news outlet late Tuesday.

Reichley’s Hallmark operates four other stores in southwest Ohio: in the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, in the Centerville Place shopping center in south Centerville , in Liberty Square in Liberty Twp., and in the Village Green Shopping Center in Fairfield, according to Hallmark’s web site.
The Reichley’s Hallmark group owned by Rick and Lilah Reichley have operated the Dayton Mall and Fairfield Commons Mall stores since early 2017, when the franchise owners acquired the two mall stores from Kirlin’s Hallmark.

Both stores underwent extensive renovations in early 2017, and Rick Reichley told this news outlet at the time that customers could expect a fresh look and new merchandise, including more jewelry and fashion accessories.
Employees will be offered positions at other Reichley’s Hallmark stores. “All our Dayton Mall associates have the opportunity to transfer to any of our other locations and keep their jobs with us,” the Reichleys told this news outlet late Tuesday.

David Duebber, general manager of the Dayton Mall, told this news outlet Tuesday, “We are certainly sad to see the closing of Hallmark, as this store has been a part of the Dayton Mall for many years. While store closings are always difficult, they do provide businesses with opportunities for growth and allow us to introduce new tenants to our guests. Our leasing team is in discussions with potential new tenants to fill the space and we will announce plans when we are able.”
The Dayton Mall is home to more than 100 national, regional and local retailers, Duebber said, and it will continue to “focus on providing a dynamic experience for our guests with a mix of retail, dining and entertainment options, including events and activities throughout the year.”
