The Donatos Pizza store at 5120 N. Main St. in Harrison Twp. was heavily damaged in the storms, and had to be demolished, according to Doug Galusha, marketing manager for The Viking Group, Donatos Pizza’s franchise partner in the Dayton area.

“We’re making progress,” Galusha said. “Demolition was completed last week. Todd Rogers, President of Viking Group Inc. (Dayton area Franchise Partner for Donatos) is working with his design and construction team on drawings for the new Donatos that will be built (rebuilt) on the current 5120 North Main Street site.”

“Once the drawings are approved by Harrison Twp. and the various agencies, it is anticipated that the build-out will take about 6 months,” Galusha said.

Employees of the store said they took cover inside the pizza shop as the tornado struck, and emerged with no serious injuries despite parts of the building collapsing around them.
