A Clark County Sheriff's deputy tells us the river is up because of all the rain and was at least partially covering Spangler Road when the PT Cruiser came through about 9 p.m.

The person or people in the vehicle were left trapped because it hit and brought down a pole and transformer. Wires also brought down in the crash were draped on top of the vehicle. The wires were believed to be telephone lines, Bethel Twp. fire officials said.

The accident in the 3200 block of Spangler, just north and west of I-675, was dispatched just after 9 p.m.

A Bethel Twp. fire official tells us the department asked ODOT at 8 p.m. to close Spangler Road because of the high Mad River.

The road was open at the time of the accident.

We’re working to learn details about the injuries.
