LEBANON — The Lebanon Antiques Show, the oldest and one of the most respected in Ohio with quality dealers from across the county, is set for next weekend at Bowman Primary School.

Investment quality antique furniture displayed in room settings is always a hallmark of this show, but many decorative items are also available. Collectors will find china, glass, silver, jewelry, quilts, coverlets, samplers, paintings and much more at the show. More than 55 exhibitors will have on display and for sale wares from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

Also at the show will be an exhibit of hand made and painted game boards from the early 19th century. Antique dealer Tim Chambers of Missouri will discuss the many varieties of these boards, their origins and their appeal to collectors. His display will include checkers and chess boards, as well as Parcheesi games, some made down on the farm and others by skilled craftsmen. Chambers’ book, “The Art of the Game,” will be available for sale and can be autographed by Chambers, who said game boards “are authentic examples of American folk art.”

Admission is $8, and all proceeds benefit the Warren County History Center and Glendower Historic Mansion. For a $2 discount coupon, visit www.wchsmuseum.org.
