Lebanon Chamber of Commerce wants to relocate

LEBANON — The Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce wants to relocate its headquarters to the historic Nixon-Brant House.

Executive director Sara Arseneau told city council Tuesday the chamber wants to sublease space in the historic building, located at 27 N. Mechanic St. from the Lebanon Historic Conservancy District.

The building is owned by the city of Lebanon, but there is a 99-year lease agreement with the Historic Conservancy District. Council must approve the sublease and may take a vote on the agreement at its next meeting Tuesday, according to Lebanon Mayor Amy Brewer.

“This move would provide a win-win for both agencies,” Arseneau said.

Arseneau said the Nixon-Brant House would give the chamber more office space, including a separate conference room that its current office lacks on Broadway.

The space also would allow the chamber to offer an off-site meeting area for chamber members and local civic agencies, Arseneau said.

“The move would allow us to provide more services to our great members,” Arseneau said.

Arseneau said she is hopeful to complete the move by the end of the year.

The Nixon-Brant House was built in 1808 according to the Warren County Historical Society.
