Local health centers recognized for LGBTQ care

Equitas Health, the Dayton VA Medical Center and Planned Parenthood received top marks on a report card for inclusive health care for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer patients.

There were 626 U.S. health care groups that opted to be reviewed under the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s index for LGBTQ equality in care, according to a new report released today.

The scoring criteria included measures like patient and visitation non-discrimination policies, transgender patient services, plans to reduce LGBTQ health disparities, inclusive employment policies and community engagement.

Equitas Health, the Dayton VA Medical Center and Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region all received full marks on the scorecard.
