Local residents host volunteer project in Riverside

This is the third year a local resident has worked with city staff to host a volunteer project.

Dan Ryan, local Riverside resident, held a volunteer project Sunday morning to help residents with exterior house work.

Old Pathway Pentecostal Church, along with other local churches, have donated funds and materials to help the volunteers.

“We’re working to make the neighborhood a better place,” said Ryan.

The exterior repairs are done for residents who have been cited by the city or can't afford to fix it themselves.

“It’s very important because there are a lot of homes that need some work and people that just simply can’t afford to make the repairs,” he said. “We’re just out here trying to help out with the free time that we have.”

In the last years, Ryan and other volunteers have worked with the city to pick up over 100 bags of trash.
