Man throws firebomb into woman’s house

A firebomb attack on a woman’s home launched an arson investigation in Springdale in Hamilton County Sunday, according to our partners at WCPO.

A neighbor reported an unknown man drove onto Grandin Avenue in a silver and blue Dodge Dakota truck, got out, ran up to the house and threw the fire bomb through a front window of the woman’s house.

A small fire was started, but the homeowner’s son used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, Chief Inspector of Springdale Fire Department Tom Lindsey told WCPO.

“We don’t know if it’s random or precipitated. We don’t know at this point,” said Lindsey.

No one was injured but neighbors were alarmed, and investigators were puzzled by the incident.

“We haven’t had anything where nobody knew what was going on or why. It’s typically a quiet area. Just anxious to find out if we can figure out who, what, why and where,” Lindsey said.

Officials don’t have any leads on a suspect.

Investigators have not determined what the firebomb was made of or how large it was.

Evidence collected will be taken to a lab for final determination Monday.

“It was broken in pieces. Until it’s reconstructed, we won’t have an exact size of what it was,” said Lindsey.

No one was injured, but the woman who lives in the home is staying with neighbors.
