Manufacturing supply company to close next month

SPRINGFIELD — Dills Supply Co. will close its doors as of January 1, but that won’t affect local employees or customers, the company’s president said.

Although Jerry Kronenberger wouldn’t talk about the reasons behind the company’s decision, he said The Dayton Supply & Tool Company, which owns Dills, located at 26 S. Yellow Springs St., will continue to serve Springfield everyday.

Dayton Supply has a larger facility and a wider inventory in Dayton and will provide the same level of service to local customers, he added.

The three employees in Springfield will be offered positions with the company in Dayton. No one will lose a job, Kronenberger said.
