A 52-year-old West Carrollton woman was indicted on multiple charges after police found the body of a man reported missing months before inside her Cherokee Drive apartment in February.

Christine Michael faces charges of tampering with evidence, failure to report knowledge of a death, gross abuse of a corpse and abuse of a corpse.

Jerry Truett was reported missing Dec. 4 and was found dead inside Michael’s apartment on Feb. 26.

When investigators received information and responded to the apartment, officers found towels stuffed around a bedroom door.  When officers entered the bedroom they found Truett’s body.

The coroner’s office determined Truett had been dead for three to four months before he was found, the prosecutor’s office said. Truett died from an accidental overdose involving fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol intoxication, coroner’s office records show.

Michael is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 12.
